“Bret Michaels of POISON Reflects on ‘The Stadium Tour’: A Great Experience with Exceptional Artists”

In a recent interview with the weekly YouTube series “THAT Rocks!” hosted by Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine, and Don Jamieson, Bret Michaels, the lead singer of Poison, reflected on his experience during last year’s “The Stadium Tour,” where his band performed alongside Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Michaels expressed his admiration for Joan Jett and the opening band, Classless Act, praising their incredible performances and musicianship.

Michaels shared his excitement about performing outdoors during the tour, despite the preference for a darker setting to showcase the lights and pyrotechnics that Poison is known for. He emphasized his fandom of Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe, and the positive atmosphere among all the bands. Michaels mentioned attending the shows of the other bands and seeing mutual support between them, like Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe watching Poison perform from the side of the stage. He described it as a great moment and highlighted the camaraderie and mutual respect between the bands.

Back in February, Michaels had also expressed admiration for Def Leppard during an interview with the “Pete McMurray Show.” He praised their timeless quality, noting that their music has a wide appeal and is not limited by age. Michaels appreciated the fact that, like himself, Def Leppard incorporates new music into their sets alongside their classic hits. He believed that introducing new songs keeps the band’s performances fresh and engaging for both artists and fans alike.

Michaels is gearing up for his 2023 “Parti-Gras” tour, which starts in July. The tour aims to celebrate Michaels’ dedicated fans and his extensive catalog of hit songs with a Mardi Gras-inspired atmosphere. The limited run of live dates will feature special guests Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, Steve Augeri (former lead singer of Journey), and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), along with nightly surprise guests to provide an unforgettable rock experience. The tour, presented by Live Nation, will kick off in Clarkston, Michigan, and make stops across the United States before concluding in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In addition to his upcoming tour, Michaels has been working on his inspirational book titled “Bet On Yourself: Don’t Crash & Burn… Crash & Learn.” Scheduled for release in the fall of 2023, the book will serve as a guide for motivation, inspiration, and entrepreneurship. Michaels will share personal stories and lessons from his own life, drawing from the highs and lows he has experienced, in order to encourage readers to embrace their fighting spirit and achieve their goals.

Overall, Bret Michaels reflected on the positive experiences and camaraderie he encountered during “The Stadium Tour” and expressed his admiration for Joan Jett, Def Leppard, and Mötley Crüe. He is now looking forward to embarking on his “Parti-Gras” tour and inspiring others through his upcoming book.
