Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Jack Sherman has passed away at the age of 64. A cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. Sherman was an active member of the group from 1983-1984, performing on their debut album “The Red Hot Chili Peppers” and earning songwriting credits on their sophomore album “Freaky Styley. He would later provide guest vocals on two tracks on the band’s platinum certified 1989 album “Mother’s Milk“.
Speaking of his passing, the band issued the below statement:
“We of the RHCP family would like to wish Jack Sherman smooth sailing into the worlds beyond, for he has passed. Jack played on our debut album as well as our first tour of the USA. He was a unique dude and we thank him for all times good, bad and in between. Peace on the boogie platform.”
