Judas Priest Steps In to Replace Ozzy Osbourne at Power Trip Festival

Judas Priest, the iconic British heavy metal band, has been added to the Power Trip lineup alongside AC/DC on the Saturday, October 7 bill. This exciting announcement comes after Ozzy Osbourne canceled his appearance due to health issues. The historic three-day event, scheduled for October 6, 7, and 8, will showcase six legendary bands that define loud and powerful music: Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden on Friday, October 6; AC/DC and Judas Priest on Saturday, October 7; and Metallica and Tool on Sunday, October 8.

Judas Priest expressed their enthusiasm in a statement, stating that they are ready to deliver their signature heavy metal sound at this prestigious festival. They are proud to represent the genre and excited to unite with fans to celebrate the metal faith at this extraordinary Power Trip world event.

In March, AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool shared a teaser video for Power Trip, featuring iconic metal imagery and the logos of each of the six bands. However, Ozzy Osbourne’s cancellation was announced on Monday, citing ongoing health issues and his desire to give his fans a performance that meets his high standards.

The Power Trip festival will mark AC/DC’s first concert since September 2016, when the band concluded a series of U.S. dates with Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose filling in for lead vocalist Brian Johnson, who was recovering from hearing loss at the time.

It’s worth noting that Metallica previously performed at the Empire Polo Grounds in 2011 as part of the “Big Four” event, which also featured Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer.

Power Trip is set to take place in the unique night-time desert setting of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The location, combined with unparalleled concert production, promises to elevate the experience beyond traditional stadium or parking lot concerts. The festival offers three double-billed headlining performances and aims to provide heavy music audiences with an unforgettable weekend escape.

Tickets for the three-day general admission start at $599 plus fees, with options for The Pit, Reserved Floor, Grandstand Seating, and various VIP packages. Camping options are also available for attendees who wish to camp at the Trip, including car and tent camping, ready-to-go lodge and tent options, and RV spots. Additionally, hotel packages are offered through Valley Music Travel, which includes Power Trip tickets, nearby accommodations, and shuttle passes.

For music fans who want to commemorate the weekend, a Power Trip Commemorative Print is available for pre-order. This limited-edition giclée print poster, designed and printed by artist J. Bannon, captures the essence of the Power Trip experience and will be delivered in advance of the show. The poster is available in 18″x24″ on fine art textured stock and limited to 300 copies.

With its stellar lineup and unique desert setting, Power Trip promises to be an extraordinary event for heavy music enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable weekend of rock and metal.
