Neil Young and Crazy Horse have just released Milky Way, the first track off their upcoming album.
If you’ve recently had the opportunity to see Young play live, you may have already heard a rendition of Milky Way. However, this is the first time we’re hearing the track performed by Crazy Horse.
Milky Way marks their first release in seven years, and whilst the tender ballad is somewhat atypical of Crazy Horse, the track features Young’s trademark poeticism, as Young sings beautifully:
“As starts flew by, I did collide with memory but somehow I survived and became free.”
Whilst there has been no announcement of accompanying live dates as of yet, Young has been working on a series of 15 films which will document his career, with one, Mountain Sessions, to document the making of Colorado.
Young recently performed alongside Bob Dylan for the first time in 25 years, in a historic performance in Kilkenny, Ireland, with a joint rendition of Will The Circle Be Unbroken.
