Evans EC2S Clear Rock Tom Pack – 10″, 12″, 16″ Drum Heads
$57.99
Evans improved EC2 drumheads contain Evans’ exclusive and patented Sound Shaping Technology (SST). Sound Shaping Technology allows the drumheads to be fully optimized for each individual size by varying the thickness and density of the damping material, ensuring greatly improved performance and tone across the entire kit. Unlike other heads that lack SST, Evans EC2s contain the ability to balance attack and tone for each size. The result is a drumhead series fine-tuned for attack, tone, length of sustain, and ease of tuning. Packed with a more balanced and pre-EQ’d sound across the full kit, the Evans EC2 with SST will make your toms sound better than you ever thought possible.
TWO PLIES: EC2S Clear heads use two plies of 7mil film for optimized tone, length of sustain, and ease of tuning.

Top quality and sound
I’ve been playing drums for 35 years and these are my go to skins I love the sound quality and the extra layer with the oil in between For some reason this adds a nice deep tone and a real drum feel and sound you will not get super bounce out of these heads but you will get a beautiful tone and this is really an opinion that you will have to find out on Your own but once I gave these a try I fell in love with the feel and the tone. Also when I was younger I was a heavy banger I am now a much lighter touch but back then I would break pretty much any single skin head accept these because of the quality of the construction I believe.

Great Sounding Heads!
I’ve been using the EC2 clear heads for about 3 yrs exclusively! Just for piece of mind, I tried many other types of Evans heads, and other brands as well, like Remo…and I kept coming back to the Evans EC2 clears. Now that Evans has the new 360 degree technology, they tune even easier and faster because they sit on the bearing edge more evenly, almost perfectly, and without any play. This allows me to put the head on the drum, then put my hoop on, finger tighten my tension rods, and then tune accordingly(about one turn each rod in a cross pattern, then about a half turn the second time around). You may prefer to tune a different way! These heads sound somewhat fat, with not too much sustain (just right), and just the right amount of attack! The sound I get is perfect for live as well a recording, and I must add I use Evans Genera Resonant heads on the bottom to get the sound I’m referring to. I recommend giving these a try and hear for yourself how great they sound, I’ll bet you won’t be disappointed. Even on lower end drums they will sound really good. I had a Tama Rock Star kit, used the Evans EC2 clear heads on the kit, and the kit sounded pretty darn good for a low end kit!

I love their concepts
I’m a loyal Evans guy. I love their concepts. Starting off with the cons. These heads will get marked up after playing them for a while. As all heads do. So don’t expect for the shiny black chrome look to stay on there. That’s it. Lol. Threw these beauties on my pearl vision birch kit. I was kind of afraid of them being a thicker head, the timbre of the birch would kinda dry out the sound. But no! It hasn’t. I get a nice full tone out of my toms. My toms sound “moist” if you must. They’re also pretty sensitive too. According to Evans they actually Boost the low frequencies and I totally agree. My Hi-toms sound round and fat and got a lot of smack to em’. And my floor tom just straight ROARS. It sounds like thunder. Also, my kit is jet black finish (which is partly the reason why I was leaning towards these heads) and it just looks sexy now. Also Evans did a nice job putting the clear ply on top whick give them such a crazy reflective look from a distance plus they shine. But only for a short while until you start beating on em. But damn they can really take a hit. Sometimes I go crazy and start just beating on them like crazy and they hold their pitch. Definetly loving these black chrome drumheads by Evans. I would recommend these to anyone who likes their toms to sound Fat with a good amount of attack. Overall a great product as are all evans heads.

I should have switched to Evans years ago…
I threw these heads on hoping that it would offer a change but I wasn’t prepared for just how amazing the toms would sound. In my pic, the second FT wasn’t changed over but the two rack toms and first FT were as well as tuned low… Wow!!!I’m in love. It breathed life back into this old kit. I’m absolutely in love with the sound both live and for recording purposes. You can go wrong with these.
