[Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi found himself in an unexpected role as a hero on Tuesday, September 10, when he intervened to help a distressed woman on the verge of jumping off a Nashville bridge.

The incident took place on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and was captured on surveillance footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
