Amazing guitar that stays in tune REALLY well!
Wasn’t sure how much I’d liek this one, as the GIO line isn’t that great usually, but it’s actually really amazing! It feels nice to play, and looks really good. It also stays in tune EXTREMELY well. I went from E Standard tuning (EAFGBe) to Drop B tuning (BF#BEG#C#), and played a few songs, then left for a few hours, and when I came back, it was still perfectly in tune just as I left it, which is how it should be. The basic GIO line Ibanez you can get, has a problem staying in tune AT ALL, let alone for a few hours while gone, so this is a major step up. Highly recommend.

Owned it for a year so far and…
In my opinion and granted it’s my first guitar… I bought it after a Youtuber eytachpi42 did a long review on it. I haven’t regretted it since. It’s very versatile. The switch changes from 5 positions. The humbuckers are perfect for beginners. I have been learning through JustinGuitar on YouTube and there’s nothing I can’t play along with. Granted I don’t think the humbuckers are at pro level but if you’re not a pro then don’t worry.I just bought Seymour Duncan Black Winter Humbucker Bridge and a Seymour Duncan Sentient humbucker for the neck and I can’t wait to add them. This guitar screams heavy metal and so that’s why I bought them but they are versatile just like this guitar and it sounds with stock really great but I want next level. Those humbuckers as a set cost the same as my guitar so I’m crazy but I love this guitar so much I didn’t want to buy another. The black is Matt Black so no finger prints, I wished the back of the guitar was black but I’m okay. Definitely but lock in tuners. The dots on the side of the neck tell you where the fret is you’re looking for.Anyways I hope it helps.Oh and tc electronic MojoMojo sounds crazy good on this guitar!Updated pictures and my rig..I changed the knobs. LOL

    Awesome guitar
This guitar is way better quality than others in this price range. It required minimal setup from the box. Had no finish imperfections either. The feet ends on a few frets were the smallest amount sharp and the frets could use a polish, but for the price it blows the competition out of the water. Would highly recommend for beginner to intermediate.

    Overall very good
Guitar looks awesome with the matte black finish. String action is low in a good way, other cheap guitars usually have very high string height from what I’ve experienced. Humbuckers look great. I appreciate getting a maintenance manual and a truss road screw driver with the package. The packaging itself was great, bubble wrap for cushions while the guitar itself is in its own box and cushioning. Overall for $250, the quality is shown as it should at this price point $250. Only complaint is the fretboard markers are not really visible as the black color blends in with the already painted black fretboard. At least the dots are on the side for marking.

    Good beginner guitar
    Nice guitar. Nice price

It does actually seem to be the GRGR131EXBKF
I am a beginning and still getting used to guitars in general, but I ordered this here because it was basically the only dealer that had the guitar in stock. I was a little worried that, as Guitar Center and other major carriers were still waiting for stock, that it wouldn’t be the right thing. However, it has arrived and appears to be the correct product. I will add to the review as I get some practice. So far so good, it’s light and sounds great.

Budget has improved much in recent years.
Well packaged and pretty much good to go out of the box excluding the intonation being slightly off. Overall the instrument has no business being as playable and sounding this good at its price point. 👍👍

    Came in good condition.. almost.
Color and sound are both great, looks amazing. But it looks like it unfortunately came with some damage. I understand how rough people are while moving shipments, and something as sensitive as a guitar could be delivered with damage. The box used to ship the guitar is a quite thin guitar shaped cardboard box with light styrofoam packing, and the guitar is wrapped in thin foam. Again I understand the delivery process is long and can be damaging for sensitive objects, but extra precautions to ensure something as delicate as a guitar could be delivered safely with no defects really goes a long way. The chips missing from the guitar were found at the bottom of the foam wrap, so I know it didn’t come from the factory this way, and it was indeed damaged in shipping.

  10. BatKen

Straight out the box this guitar looked and played like a pro. Lightweight and stealthy looking. Fantastic metal guitar. Perfect tones, action nice and light. Really impressed. Ibanez have created an affordable alternative that won’t empty your bank account and plays like a dream.
