A great investment if you’re struggling to get good audio INTO your computer.
I was struggling to get good audio into my PC… noise and RF interference even with good filters just never gave me the audio I knew I could get from my ribbon velocity mics. Tried various sound cards over the years, even bought the 8 channel Beringer 1204 USB model where (for different reasons) I still struggled to get the sound I wanted. Out of desperation and frustration with hours of research and years of dust collecting in the studio, I took a chance on this guy, fully preparing to regret a second beringer purchase. To my amazement, plug & play this little box gave me near perfect audio from the first test. No bells or whistles.. but also no noise and a clean punchy gain control with default driver settings.I was able to use this little box to troubleshoot the (ASIO driver) issue I was having with my 1204, (recording level needs boosted to 88 on the driver tab, and sliders need to go +5db with gain at 3:00 for my Sure and RCA mics).. not ideal, but happy to have my mixer back in the mix) – this little guy will be my go-to mobile interface and back-up unit. Super happy with its design, performance, and price point to solve an issue I’ve been fighting for years. Would buy again.

Solid fairly well built, some issues, good deal for the money
I purchased this in order to have a small interface for traveling and sometimes to record at night on a different machine. Maybe I would rate it higher. I found that everything works very well I have audio interfaces that are part of some other machine ( Digital recorder, effects unit). I don’t get any latency with those interfaces. On the Mac in Live I get some latency using the Behringer but interestingly not when I use a plug-in like amplitube. In addition you need to download the driver to work with windows. This is not difficult at all but just letting you know. It’s fun late at night to have a simple interface works great With GarageBand, mix craft and pretty well with live like I said I’m not sure if a “” better”interface would have less latency. Everything works nicely, I do like Behringer but ironically I think I would travel with a different interface maybe I would’ve returned it if it was convenient. For the price and the quality it’s a great first audio interface for a beginner and perhaps a convenient one where you don’t need bells and whistles. I’m a little wary of buying an older used interface and this is just about the least expensive and quite small. For now I’ll keep it though I might sell it at some point. If you need a small interface that takes up very little room and easy to use and does have Direct monitoring I think this is a good unit. Small well-built interfaces go for around $100 so this one will save you money if that’s an issue or is a great spare for travel, the office, or where you don’t want to break up your studio but you need an interface with another computer or to record elsewhere. For the size you could just carried around in the car so you can record wherever you go.

Its a great little guy. Great for the price however it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.Its made of plastic which is a slight bummer but not of any problem to me as it just sits on my desk. The knobs feel good and are precise. And it is easy as pie to set up literally plug and play in my experience.I play guitar abit and never had a easy way to connect it to my pc however the UM2 has a 1/4″ port which means you can plug a electric guitar or keyboard or anything that uses a 1/4″ jack which is awesome and makes it a good cheap all rounder.However it has a high noise floor which means no cranking the gain too 100 also because of this powering a high power mic the the SM7B or Podmic is impossible almost (although I have managed it with my Podmic but I had to up the gain in software as it was too quiet otherwise or too noisy if I upped the gain on the interface.So in short if you want a cheap interface for a easy to run xlr mic then this is great for you however if you want it for a gain hungry mic like the SM7B or Podmic then either get a better one or get a gain booster like a cheaper cloud lifter.
